OUR MISSION

It's amazing how a simple home-cooked dinner can spark a great idea that changes lives. That's exactly what happened in 2018 when Joel and Rashida Brown welcomed KIPP Philadelphia Charter School alums attending Lincoln University for a meal. During their conversations, they realized that these young people needed support throughout their college journey. Many of the students were the first in their families to attend college and needed guidance, encouragement, mentorship, and financial support for essentials. Joel and Rashida were inspired by this experience to create an annual scholarship and events for the students.

Fast forward to 2022, and the Brojora Foundation was founded as a charitable 501(c)(3) and tax-exempt organization. This foundation will continue its mission of awarding scholarships and mentoring the next generation of leaders. Since relocating to Delaware, Joel and Rashida have expanded their reach to serve other communities. Their dedication to helping others is truly inspiring, and the impact of their work will be felt for generations to come.
